There are a few activities this week to help celebrate the final days of kindergarten. Mrs. Gillies' class is having an Authors Celebration on Wednesday during the first hour of each session. The children will be seated at tables with their writing portfolios and will read their work to visiting family and friends. Each child will be recognized for their writing and reading achievements during the last ten minutes.
Mr. Kay's class has a final program on Thursday. The morning one will begin at 9:45, and the afternoon at 1:30. Kids will be dressed as what they'd like to be when they grow up. Should be lots of fun!
Thursday is the last day of school for all kindergartners.
Other grades will be attending a reading assembly on Wednesday to celebrate their reading accomplishments (and hopefully motivate them to keep reading over the summer!)
Kids can sign up for the summer reading program at the Mapleton Library up until June 1. The program has weekly activities until July 14. Volunteers are still needed--check the library for more info!
